Back from Polaris

Sun Jul 12, 2009, 9:18 PM
  • Mood: Happy
  • Listening to: various Power Rangers themes
  • Reading: Spider-man/X-men.
  • Watching: Power Rangers of Youtube
  • Playing: Sims 2/ ToS2/Pokemon Platinum
  • Eating: free Con party food
  • Drinking: Cola
Well, I have returned from the Polaris Convention here in Toronto. I obviously liked it well enough to stay the 2 nights in the one bed Hotel room, which wasn't so bad anyway, there were only 4 people a night in a room, rather then 6, as 1 sister and their room mate crashed in someone else's room the 2 nights.
The Convention was fun, bought a lot of comics in the dealer's room (though being a Sci-Fi Con, they mostly weren't mainstream comics and often based off of Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff instead, but I did get one interesting Spider-Man/X-men crossover story in a collection. I also bought an FF7 Advent Children Bahumut SIN model for a pretty decent price.
Had some interesting panels and discussions on various Sci-Fi topics, saw some Q&A talks by the quests of the Con, watched some videos of various Sc-Fi stuff (David Hewlett and his sister Kate, David Nykel, Claudia Black, all from Star Gate) as well as played some Board and Card Games in a game room, and I even spent some time in the hotel's pool. Plus I saw the Cosplay Masquerade competition, amusing to see all the costumes of both competitors and just normal guests.
I didn't get Photos or Autographs because they were extra, and I don't think it really worth it to pay for someone's Autograph (beyond paying admission for a con like this), no matter really who it is. My mom, sisters and their roommate all did though.
Anyway, I had a fun time there, enough so that I was willing to go back next year already, having already bought a ticket for next year to save money.
Anyway, that was my weekend. My mom and sister all took photos and even videos, I can try to get a hold of some to post pics or links to the pics and links to the videos if anyone is interested. Now To catch up here.
----------------------
I decided to stop posting the links to that art section, it took up a lot of space. I still have 3 slots open, so ask if you want a request. Just be prepared to offer 5-10 free requests to other people with the same stipulation that they make the same offer to others.

Projects

- More Zoo photos.
- More Kaiju pictures
- Some mythic beast pictures.
- Some Power Rangers pictures
- A Few Gifts and art trades.
- Legend of Zelda: Dragon Quest of Doom issue 30 (got to get on this one)
- The 100 theme challenge ( I hope, I've been uninspired).

- I'm open for Art Trades at the moment, so ask if you want me to do something.

The Rejection Challenge: Are you brave enough?-->[link]
On lots of social networks, let me know what ya have.
All of your pokemon anthros are copies of drawings done by a much better artist. Your petty plagiarism is pathetic.
If you are referring to the Eeveelution Anthros, I am only using the Bases made by someone else, made for the intent of being used by others, used with permission, and with credit given to the maker of the base. If you have issue that the bases are made from someone else's pictures, then you should take it up with the one who made them, all the pictures have links to the bases. If for some reason you find that the bases should be removed because of that, and therefor all pictures made from the bases, then I will comply and remove them if the bases themselves get removed.
But if you are just complaining that they are made from bases made by someone else, then that is not pathetic, as they were made specifically for the point of being used by others. As for my Antho Pokemon of Rui and Misty, I made them from Dolls which I obtained permission to use, and are as far as I can tell, original art and in no way copied form anyone else.

did you change to doing photography
No, I just took a bunch of pictures one day at the Zoo and have been posting them over the last few weeks. I'm still doing all my normal stuff as well.
